Named in honor of Robert W. Hiller, a Wisconsin baking industry legend, this space is more than just a kitchen—it’s a hub for professional growth. With over 75 years of experience running Rollin’ Pin Bakery in Janesville, WI, Robert and Sandy Hiller left a legacy of value, leadership, and passion for baking. His contributions include serving as President of the Retail Bakers of America, Valley Cooperative Association, and the Wisconsin Bakers Association.
Fully Equipped Test Kitchen & Classroom
This fully equipped, on-site test kitchen and classroom has everything you need for advanced training, certification, and product testing. It’s designed to inspire bakers of all levels.
In the Kitchen:
- Mixer
- Rack oven
- Deck oven
- Donut fryer
- Rounder
- Commercial refrigerator
- Expansive butcher block countertops
- Baking pans and utensils galore
In the Classroom:
- Tables and chairs (seating up to 30 people)
- Projector and screen
- Wi-Fi access for presentations and research
Please note: While the Bakery Technology Room isn’t a licensed commercial kitchen, users can obtain a temporary license to use it for commercial purposes. Licensing and compliance are the responsibility of the user.

The Bakery Technology Room has been the hub for countless trainings and seminars over the years. Highlights include a cake decorating seminar hosted by Lawrence Foods and the inaugural Bakers U gathering.
Valley also invites members and customers to demo and test exciting new products, giving them an exclusive first look at what’s coming next. Members and customers are also welcome to utilize the space to troubleshoot their recipes.
